Open Transmission: Independent Radio Night by dublab, KXLU, KCHUNG, & Orange Radio,
Independent radio in Los Angeles has existed as one of the earliest and most enduring platforms to carve out space for underrepresented artists across a multitude of genres and disciplines. These radio stations are committed to discovering and sharing the most unique, obscure, diverse and at-times bizarre artists that shift the cultural landscape of the city. On July 20th, we’re bringing together four tried and true independent LA stations for a one-night showcase to honor the years of music, DJ sets, podcasts, live events, volunteer work, and undeniable history that each station has contributed to the community. Join us to celebrate the art of radio with our favorite musicians, DJs & visual artists as we bring together (an) Open Transmission.
dublab is a non-profit radio station dedicated to the growth of music, arts and culture. The station has been broadcasting from Los Angeles since 1999. Their mission is to share freeform radio transmissions with an international audience. In addition to broadcast, dublab’s programming has expanded to include the production of art exhibits, films, events, and record releases as well as four sisters stations now broadcasting in Spain, Germany, Japan and Brazil.
Orange Radio is a community-driven online radio station streaming out of San Francisco and Los Angeles. We are a platform that amplifies the diversity and narratives rooted in California to the world; through music, conversations, live events, and printed goods.
