DJ PROFILE

Michael Stock has been hosting the PART TIME PUNKS radio show on KXLU 88.9FM in Los Angeles every Thursday afternoon since 2006. The radio show focuses on the sounds (and history) of indie & DIY vinyl from 1977-present. So on any given Thursday you can expect to hear a mix of punk, post-punk, cold wave, dark wave, minimal synth, shoegaze, grunge, dreampop, post-rock, industrial, experimental and/or even black metal.

Michael has also been hosting, booking and DJing the PART TIME PUNKS club nite every Sunday nite at The Echo/plex since 2005. For the live event, he books many of the bands you hear on his radio show, new and old (and DJs strictly vinyl between sets).

During daylight hours, Michael is a Professor of Film, Graphic Fiction and Cultural Studies at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (aka SCI-Arc). Every minute in-between, he is writing comic books. His first graphic novel, PENNY DORA & THE WISHING BOX, was published by Image Comics the summer of 2015. He has two new books coming out in 2019 — GRAVEN and THE GORE RANGE. Details on those soon…
