Electronic Music has been the first love of my life. In researching new and emerging worldwide artists for Alien Air Music, I came to appreciate the beauty of traditional ethnic and folk compositions discovered along the way.
International synth artists use modern equipment and new devices when composing, while often drawing upon their own country’s musical roots, which, in many cases, go back thousands of years. That’s what gives unique flavors to electronic music from different regions.
Many Voices → One World is a show reflecting those flavors with their original instruments that include hand-made percussion, plucked string lutes and woodwind flutes, occasionally with some of the new technology now found in humanity’s modern age. Consider that different languages being sung are simply other expressions of musical instruments.
Music is almost as old as strife and war, but it’s fascinating how nations, cultures, ethnicities and tribes with age-old conflicts between them can also be intertwined with each other when it comes to creative works. Where hatred sows division, integration of artistic pursuits offers the greatest hope for our world: not only appreciating the differences in musical composition, instrumentation and vocals, but working across our divisions to appreciate each other and compose together.
That’s when we become many voices of our one world.
