Summer Plair, aka “loverboy”, is a queer, black, twenty-something year old trying her best to figure out what exactly in life makes her feel “fulfilled”. Born, raised, and currently residing on the Westside of Los Angeles, Summer is very prideful to call herself an LA native and does not support the gentrification of the black and brown spaces of her beloved city. She’s currently studying to receive her BA in screenwriting from the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount. Since she was a child, she has always found that storytelling is her preferred craft and has used it to make people laugh, cry, and everything in between. She wants to write for television in the future, specifically sitcoms, to continue her love for storytelling and comedy. Often described as a “class clown”, Summer loves comedy and making people laugh. She is currently writing/producing a comedy web series about her high school self that she hopes will inspire and make other queer POCs feel at ease with their lives. She grew up listening to funk, soul, and disco with her mother, hip hop/rap/ with her sister, jazz with her longtime guitar teacher, and rock with herself. She doesn’t really know what she likes to listen to and what her show is all about, but knows she likes music about love, music with a funky bass/drum line, and when people complain over guitars.
