Robert Douglas
I transferred to LMU in 1987, with dreams of becoming a record producer but I changed my major to art at the last minute. My first day at LMU I was asked if I was interested in being a deejay at KXLU and I said YES. Since then I’ve held the positions of Co-Production Director, Art Director, Public Service Director, co-hosted The High Noon News, hosted The Weekend Intown Report from 1988 to 1990, then hosted THE Intown Report until 2000, and brought it back from 2011 to 2020. I hosted and produced Happy Trails from 1990 to 2003, adding weekly co-host Eric Stringer from 2003 to 2010, and monthly co-hosts Jana Pendragon, Ronnie Mack, and Judy Toy between 1991 and 2008. Happy Trails became LIVATION in 2004. Hilary Russell came on board in 2010 and is my co-host and co-producer and the shows have never been better! COVID changed many things globally and KXLU adapted quickly and with amazing success! It brought us LIVATION AM which we work extremely hard on each week and are very proud of! Check out our shows! The Original LIVATION, Wednesday nights at midnight Pacific Time to 2AM featuring live performances at KXLU and more, followed by LIVATION LATE at 2AM Pacific Time, where we play anything we feel like! I grew up in L.A. and have been music obsessed for most of my life. Music fuels my life, lyrics are my poetry which fulfills me in
so many ways! I joined Livation in 2010 and it has been a truly amazing learning experience and opened many doors for me. We play the coolest new stuff among well loved punk, rock, industrial, surf, rockabilly and more!
